An Environmental Assessment (EA) is being completed by EAS for Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. This EA is looking at the Base’s Bird/Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) program. In addition to the completion of the EA, EAS will complete a preliminary mitigation plan, archaeological survey, and wetland delineation.
BASH programs utilized by the Air Force look to preserve war fighting capabilities through the reduction of wildlife hazards to aircraft operations. Policy and mitigation measures are determined through the collection and analysis of baseline biological data and wildlife strike data.
