Hazardous Waste Site Investigations
Responding to Waste Site Investigations
For more than two decades, the EAS team has characterized some of the nation’s most complex and challenging waste sites as part of federal and state mandates to clean up these sites. Our scientists have conducted long-term environmental monitoring and surveillance in many areas, including former defense sites such as the Hanford Site and Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility.
We work with clients to produce integrated, compliant, and credible information to assess and document site impacts on public safety and the environment in support of Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies (RI/FS) and risk assessments.
EAS offers an established history of performing environmental sampling; collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data; and assessing environmental quality. Within the last decade, our staff have completed more than:
- 200 environmental assessments
- 24 scientific projects
- 300 fish and bird surveys
- 20 technical reports
- EAS staff also have collected more than 30,000 environmental samples for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
