EAS is providing professional and technical support to the NOAA West Coast Region to execute NOAA’s mission. EAS is conducting policy support, program implementation, education and outreach, regulatory and recovery coordination, and other scientific services for multiple tasks including:
- Protected Resources Division stranding support
- Oregon Washington Coastal Office regulatory support
- California Central Valley Office section 7 consultation support
- Sustainable Fisheries Division Highly Migratory Species (HMS) policy, exempted fishing permit, and analytical support
- Sustainable Fisheries Division HMS policy, quality control, and analytical support
