As part of the Department of Energy (DOE) lease renewal for Washington Nuclear Project 1 and 4, DOE proposed having Energy Northwest (EN) Industrial Development Complex (IDC) transition from groundwater wells to surface water as a potable water source. This Surface Water project requires periodic sampling of the river water at River Pump House intakes per Department of Health (DOH).
EAS provided a sampling plan, testing supplies (tubing, pumps, sample bottles, etc.), and boat and U.S. Coast Guard licensed boat captain services for this project and performed bi-weekly sampling efforts for six months. Samples consisted of river water samples at the intake of River Water Pump House to support DOH requirement. EAS transported samples in temperature-controlled storage from sampling site to testing facility.
