EAS has been awarded a new task under its ProTech Fisheries contract with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). EAS will be providing professional and technical support to the NOAA West Coast Region in order to execute NOAA’s mission under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and will be coordinating the green sturgeon recovery.
Additionally, EAS will be providing hydrology and fisheries support for various NMFS projects at the California Coast Office and the North Coast Branch, as well as working on the Hatchery and Genetic Management Plan for the Columbia River and Puget Sound and also working to support the NOAA Education Strategic Plan to form and enhance science education partnerships.
