EAS COMPLETING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ANALYSIS FOR THE U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS

EAS is providing Davis Monthan Air Force Base with an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Decision Document supporting the decision-making process to establish permanent Playas Military Operations Area (MOA) and Air Traffic Control Assigned Airspace (ATCAA) above Playas, New Mexico for realistic combat rescue training.

EAS is evaluating the proposed aspects planned for Playas MOA, assessing alternative actions, and addressing environmental impacts.  To ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations covered by NEPA, EAS is identifying applicable legal requirements, notifications, analyses, investigations, and coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies for data collection.

NEPA Project Manager Paige Rhodes and Deputy Project Manager Kevin Groppe are providing NEPA expertise and support the Air force in the execution of the EA requirements, development of the related studies, and documentation to determine potential impacts of the Playas MOA.
